On October 26-28, 2020 an online training workshop “Relating language curricula, tests and examinations to the Common European Framework of Reference (RELANG)” was organized at Northern University in cooperation with The European Centre for Modern Languages of the Council of Europe. About 30 English teachers and ESL professors of different educational institutions of the Republic of Armenia attended the training workshop. The event was originally scheduled for April 26-28, but was postponed due to a coronavirus.
The event was originally scheduled on April 26-28, 2020 but it was postponed because of covid 19 pandemic. The European experts Rita Juknevičienė (Lithuania) and Gábor Szabó (Hungary) conducted the workshop on the following topics:
- Familiarization with Mediation and Pluricultural/Plurilingual Scales
- Identification of Mediation and Pluricultural/Plurilingual Scales in the Curriculum
- Construction of Mediation and Pluricultural/Plurilingual Tasks
- Assessment of Mediation: Issues in Formative and Summative Testing
- Construction of Rating Scales.
It’s worth mentioning that some of the participants, in addition to the main topics of the training, presented to foreign experts some details related to the war and Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The technical assistance to the workshop training was provided by Arpine Aleksanyan, the communication between the participants and experts was held by Ani Tamazyan.
The local coordinator of the event was Lusine Fljyan, Vice-Rector for Education and Internalization of Northern University.
