One of the best news of April 9 regular online meeting of Northern University was that the Moodle platform of university, which was damaged by the hacker attack, was restarted and for several days the Faculty of Economics has been successfully providing distance education with this application. According to the Coordinator of Distance Learning A. Alexanyan the online learning guide on the Moodle platform is almost ready, which will allow both lecturers and students to master the nuances of online learning step by step, or to revise the knowledge gained during the training.
Issues related to online learning, were also discussed during the meeting. According to the deans, all courses are conducted without interruption, all materials are archived. N. Sirakanian, Head of the Quality Assurance Department, presented the results of the surveys conducted by lecturers and students on online learning, noting that the surveys are unique in their kind, and a number of universities applied to the administration of Northern University to make the questionnaires available for them. Considering the results of the online survey, it was decided to provide students with electronic literature, organize trainings for lecturers for developing their IT skills , include a large number of video tutorials in the online learning toolkit. Rector Mher Makichyan suggested that for avoiding additional tension during this period, any other faculty should not be forced to switch to distance learning on the Moodle platform.
On April 4, at 21:00, the Chair of Economics and Management held a regular online session, summing up the results of the previous week. The participants, dean K. Bayramyan, head of the chair A. Jughuryan, lecturers and administrative staff touched upon the work being done on the distance learning platform, the effectiveness of the lessons etc. In case of communication problems, the course is usually held even in the evening or early in the morning.
